And a reduction in oil consumption in the U.S. would indirectly, in fact, hurt Iran by driving prices down.

But, as long as you’re doing the ad? Why not throw in every unsympathetic international figure that has something to do with oil? Ahmadinejad! Chavez! Putin! Stephen Harper! Er…

I don’t think there’s such a thing as buying oil from Iran, Canada, or Venezuela. Once the stuff hits the world market it’s bought.
