Black Sabbath is the prime example of stoner metal. For newer bands, your dog might consider the Sword, High on Fire, or Bongzilla.

Well, my dog considers (with scant but admissible argument) that Black Sabbath invented metal, and as such all other metal, even the horrible 80s glam metal, sprung from that seed. As such, he doesn’t consider Sabbath to be any specific type of metal; rather he just considers Black Sabbath.

He will probably get around to czeching out those other bands you mentioned, however.
