Speaking of screw ups, I just saw a YouTube video on the Mark 14 torpedo. Basically rendered US subs all but useless for the first year of the war.

Ah, yeah, that was one of Drachinifel’s best yet. Easily to naval history what The Chieftain is to tanks and Ian McCollum to firearms. His piece on Samar is excellent but perhaps his best work is in the several pieces he’s done to recount the tragedy that was the Imperial Russian fleet and the Russo-Japanese War.
