China needs the US to buy their cheap manufactured goods. The China’s economy is suffering because US demand has dropped. The US needs China to produce cheap stuff to keep the consumer economy rolling along. And the US needs China to buy US Treasury bonds to keep the dollar from tanking. The economic compact is called Chimerica.
