True story — that was the reason why my mom wouldn’t buy me tampons when I first got my period. She actually believed that nonsense. I had to get a bunch of pamphlets from the school nurse debunking that shit before she changed her mind.

I had a roommate that swore she would get some awful infection and die if she used them.

Why anyone would choose to wear what is basically a diaper when there are options is beyond me.
