That’s horrible. I know similar stories from friends.
Especially shortly after reunification, there was a huge breakout of violence against foreigners and generally persons who were considered to be undeutsch.
By now, the situation is different: while Nazis in former West Germany are not a real problem, Nazi-violence is virulent at villages and rural areas in former Eastern Germany. There are some areas where I would disadvise any person to go, who is an identifiable target for Nazis.

I’ve heard that. It’s a sad development. So much for the official “anti-fascist” line of the SED.

But somehow I suspect those BRD guys in the Kneipen are still there, too. They weren’t going around self-identifying as Nazis, they just took the opportunity when they saw it to express how they really felt. I imagine there’s much more of that than the MSM lets on.
