Man can certainly affect nature, but to say that we can ’ conquer ’ it is a little specious. Next time an F-5 tornado comes rolling down our way, I’d be only too happy to have some anthropomorphic intervention, but I’m not holding my breath.
And until we figure out how to put a cork in an erupting volcano, we can’t really claim mastery over emissions.///
