Excellent — since installing the caching system for comments older than 7 days, my log tells me that the system has now served more than 250 megabytes out of the cache, instead of pulling it out of the database. And that’s for less than one day. At this rate, the cache will save more than 2 gigabytes of data transfer per week. That will have a major positive effect on database performance.
