We have got some very basic stuff. They are learning all the state names,flags, birds etc. I have ordered a computer program that should at least give them the basics. My US History is shocking. I know more about World history than I do about the country of my birth.

Two good books to boost your knowledge of US history:
The Glorious Cause by Robert Middlekauf (US Revolution era)
Battle Cry of Freedom by James McPherson (US Civil War era)
