What happened to “country first”?

I see a case for it, which does not mean I approve. Rather, I understand that parties want to ensure that the person they campaign for doesn’t turn on them. Loyalty oaths may not be the best way to prevent that, so I’m not giving them my approval at this time. Instead, I’m remaining neutral on the matter for the time being.
