Seriously. If I understand the process correctly, you get scanned, your basic body shape (apple, in need of toning, in my case) goes to some person sitting in a room scanning endless pictures of naked people, and they check that you don’t have a bomb in your panties. Upon the ‘no bomb in panties’ all clear, they hit a button, and your image gets wiped. Am I missing something? Because that doesn’t bother me at all.

The basic problem is that people don’t have faith that things will work out like that. Part of that is simple distrust of government. Too often we hear government agencies boast of their safeguards, only to find out later that the safeguards sometimes didn’t work. Those failures cause distrust.
