Some Muslims do, yes. By no means all. It is the others that Obama is trying to reach. To do that is not stupid; it is smart.

Reports from Iran suggest that discontent with the mullah regime is boiling hard just below the surface. Should we write those people off (most of them young, most of them fed up to the teeth with political Islam)? I think we should try to encourage them.

If I were them, I wouldn’t trust the US for any help or support. Especially with the pronouncements the 0 has made.
Pulling out of Iraq is just one in a long history of the US leaving people it supported to the enemies we were fighting together, from the Bay of Pigs, through Vietnam, Lebanon, etc.
