re: #296 Sir John Barron

This would be a great opportunity for Trump to actually stand up for America, as he claims he wants to do. But he isn’t, and he won’t.

We’re trying to ascribe normal, sane motives to Trump. If we’re going to survive his new hobby of pretending he’s King of America, we have to stop that.

Trump is a narcissist. Really. All he cares about is attention, positive and negative, and himself. His family to the degree he feels they are extensions of him and make him look good. And business associates that he can con for money. That’s it.

Everything he does is for attention. He wants the fights. It feeds his supply. He wants the protests against him, it’s attention. He wants the rants against him. And he must, must make sure his ego and authority are not challenged, that he is “respected.” You see that all over everything he says, “respect.”

This latest issue is because he thinks the intelligence community disrespected him by going to the press. Ego hit.

The best thing to do is cut him off and ignore his tweets and hyperbole. Don’t let it throw you into fear or despair or paranoia because it’s smoke and mirrors. It’s designed to throw you into fear. He hasn’t actually done anything and no one knows what he will do. So we’re going to have to be living one issue, one day, at a time during this mess, and responding as each thing actually happens.

Otherwise he’ll fuck with your head because he knows it gets him attention. And when we spread these tweets and react to them we’re getting him more attention.

Is it hard to look away? Yes. He’s an entertainer, he knows what he’s doing and how to create a car wreck you can’t look away from. But he also knows how to write a script of lies so you’ll pay attention for ratings.

It goes against everything in me to ignore his tweets but i’ve forbidden it to be discussed in my house. We will talk about reality, not this funhouse he is creating.

The good thing about narcissists is they tend to always overreach because they underestimate the intelligence of others. They think they’re smarter than everyone else so they can get away with breaking rules and no one will catch on. That’s why we have to fight him via Congress as best we can. We have to push Congress on things like Russian hacking and his business dealings. That’s the rift that has to be created, Trump and Congress.

The Democrats in Congress understand this. They will play both sides to turn house Republicans and Trump against each other. When there are rifts they will choose sides and switch between them to make sure that Trump and Congress never completely align with each other.

This is long but it’s important. Trump is wired differently than many of us can comprehend. He has to be managed differently. We have to react to him differently. We have to remember what his real priorities will always be and they have nothing to do with this country. Nothing.
