Ahem …

A note, whether it was written by Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Ben Franklin, or pick your favorite old dude, does NOT over ride the constitution of the U.S. It also should not carry any legal weight at all.

The fact that those old dudes wrote the constitution has no weight for you ? How many quote about their opinion would you like ? We’ve covered Jefferson, how about Madison ?

“After retiring from the presidency, Madison wrote of “total separation of the church from the state.” “Strongly guarded as is the separation between Religion & Govt in the Constitution of the United States,” Madison wrote, and he declared, “practical distinction between Religion and Civil Government is essential to the purity of both, and as guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States”
