It’s more than that.

Seasonal (and migrant) work means that a lot of time you’re out of work.

If you already have a job, then that sort of job is out, even if it pays triple what your job does. (If you took a seasonal job you’d lose your regular job.)

Seasonal labour has always depended on a large number of migrants.

The idea that conservatives have promoted for decades that if we just get rid of the ill eagles there will be lots of new jobs for ‘Muricans is actually a dogwhistle for “we’re racists.”

While the average American might not think too much about how this works, politicians and businesses know exactly how it works. (That’s also why they arrest said ill eagles and deport them [a civil offence] while leaving businesses who hire them alone [a felony].) Reducing the number of H1-A visas means more ill eagles. That means no protections for the workers.
