What legal battle. Cain could simply ignore it - “it’s been asked, and answered”. He and his flacks could simply claim that this was something he previously addressed; he predicted that these kinds of baseless claims would be spouted; and that she’s not a credible witness; etc.

If we go by Cain’s record in this campaign season, it’s that he’ll try to ignore the problem, and then deny deny deny. I doubt they’ll take a direct shot at or through Allred. She’s very good at managing media expectations and maximizing media exposure.

But you know where this is going to hurt most? Not with the TP types who still think that there’s nothing wrong, but with the guys who really make the big name donations/bundlers who have to think that Cain’s bad jobu and will look for a safer candidate choice than Cain (likely Romney, though it might give Perry a jolt).

Addendum:
And it’s not like Cain can’t have others smear her on his behalf (Koch protecting their interests, the TP, etc.) He can stand back seemingly above the fray while others sling mud at her.
