Interestingly, the Tulsa county platform did not call out Homosexuality specifically. It’s problem, rather, is its explicitly religious nature. For example, they want the Bible used as a history text.

IMO, far and away the most grievous, and dare I say it, unAmerican bit coming out of OK was in the state platform draft, and it wasn’t about homosexuality or Intelligent Design. Rather, it is this statement:

12. We believe that government should not fund any organization that opposes the ideas and principles contained in the Republican Platform.

Read that carefully and think about it.

Are we nation of laws, or are we a nation of fealty to a political party?
