Hahaha, nope.
Flood insurance is extra.
You’ll likely pay more than you ever get back in an actual flood.
And if you live in a flood prone area, good luck even getting said insurance.
What a maroon.

Sorry, Varek, I don’t want to get in the way of a righteous rant, but I have to disagree with you a bit; if you have a house where there may be even a slight tendency to flood bad enough to damage your house, even from runoff from areas higher than you and even if your house isn’t in a listed flood plain, get the flood insurance.

After our house (which is far away enough from the Cumberland River and from the listed flood plains) was flooded enough from accumulated runoff in the Great Nashville Flood of 2010 to cause it to need to be demolished and rebuilt, we are legally required to have flood insurance since we had to take federal funds/assistance for the rebuild; even with that, we pay about 1/3 as much for our flood policy as we do our homeowners’ insurance every year.
