The thing is that Congress could simply ignore said agreement. No executive agreement can override an act of congress, so if 2/3rds of the House and Senate decided to punish Iran the rest of the world could not prevent them from passing sanctions to do so.

The sad thing is I’m sure there are those in Congress right now who would be happy to say FUCK PEACE and do so. And then there are those who are pissed that Obama’s administration orchestrated these talks and would be happy to fuck it up just to spite him.

Hopefully not 2/3rds, though. Democrats: please don’t be idiots here.
