Whatever. But there is no way I’m ever going to feel good about that technology. Just read about the problems Areva is having with its ‘new generation’ reactor(s).

Went and looked at more information:

There is water below, but it’s far enough below that they don’t expect any problems, although there’s no guarantee the area will remain as dry as it currently (changing weather patterns and all).

On point 2, the consequences of a leak would be radiation leaking out into the area, correct? I’m not suggesting it would be as bad as Chernobyl, but simply that if it was above a certain level, it could have the same impact.
