My Aussie friend told me Fosters is the Budweiser of Australia. It’s funny when the local crap beer is shipped somewhere new and sold as a premium product, like Coors in the East in the 1970s.

I remember hearing that somebody in California was going to ‘import’ Rolling Rock as a premium beer, and about died laughing. Rolling Rock was what you bought when you couldn’t afford Genesee, and weren’t desperate enough to buy Iron City!

It’s the old grass is greener and/or imported is better thinking. Works on all kinds of stuff. Works for people too. Out of town lawyers, designers and other consultants are always better.

And that bit about Rolling Rock. I remember back in the 70s Rolling Rock was treated as something special by many an Ohio college age student. Never understood why. I always thought it tasted weird, like some citrus acid to it.
