Yellowstone NP park rangers have had a rough time of it lately with visitors engaging in a wide range of dumbassery (taking bison calves into car because they thought it was cold, is particularly dumbassing), but it appears that someone decided to walk off one of the boardwalks at Norris basin and is presumed drowned in one of the hot springs.

You’re walking around the caldera of an active volcano. Going off trail in these areas could lead you into all kinds of trouble.

It’s another reminder of why the NPS had to close the parks when the GOP shutdown the government a few years ago. It’s because people act stupidly, and the NPS has to bail them out of their dumbassery.
