re: #304 razorbacker

The only real issue that I’ve ever had regarding doctor-delivered pain medications is that I’ve asked him not to bother prescribing them unless they are better and cheaper than what I can get on the streets.

It’s a running joke. He maintains that he has more overhead, and can’t compete on price. But if one of his pills give me a bad trip, he’ll see me to take care of it. If one of the street-drugs give me a bad trip, I have to go to the hospital. I don’t want to do that. Sick people hang out at hospitals, and I don’t want to catch anything.

My frustration was that I was having a bad reaction to an allergy injection that the doctor prescribed and that she has made special at her clinic. This is the first time I’ve had a serious problem, and I thought they would want to at least look at it, so I tried to be nice and call first. And I was not treated as a serious case at all, when I thought there was a nonzero chance that it might turn into one.

But I’m jealous of that Transformer bandaid. I can usually only get Snoopy when I go.
