Nimrod here doesn’t need an automatic rifle for this. In the very unlikely scenario proposed, I am fairly confident I could shoot 10 hogs a minute with my 45/70 Henry, for real, especially at point-blank range, and even pausing twice to reload. Once hit with that caliber, they go down and stay down, something that is iffy with a 5.56. I wouldn’t like it but it could be done.

Umm, maybe he should get his kids indoors first, not just open fire with an automatic weapon. Then, I’d be really surprised if the these demon hogs keep coming after he’s shot a few with whatever low tech weapon he has handy.
