Why do Dems understand that taxing tobacco will decrease it’s use,yet fail to get the same holds true for work,savings, and investment?

Well, when they’re taxing tobacco to discourage its use, they understand that use will go down. When they’re taxing tobacco to fund an expensive health program, suddenly they assume use will stay the same and the money will roll in.
I guess they “understand” only what they want to understand for the purposes of the moment!………and work, savings, etc. is not a part of their purpose.
