What’s fascinatingly stupid is that automation of the service industry doesn’t necessarily benefit the consumer.
Congratulations…you’re paying for less service, less customizability, and the potential for a different, harder-to-solve inconvenience when the machine fails to do it’s shit.
I mean, have you ever used self-checkout?
Self-check out is all right if you have a few items but I’d never want to do a whole shopping load on the self check out.
