I can’t explain it. If you draw the right kind of circle you also get Rush Limbaugh’s home. Go a bit the other way and you get East St. Louis and Edwardsville, both of which might be more Bernie or Hillary. So I went with the German thing. It doesn’t make sense, but you have to admit the heavy German heritage of parts of St. Louis.

Oh I was just joking around. My grandfather was the son of a German immigrant and a huge influence on the liberalism of my dad, myself, and others in our family. German-Americans are an interesting group to study in politics though.
