Someone posted a satellite photo of North America taken at night during the worst of it last week … The whole northeast looked completely blackened.
I was surprised to learn how bad the damage was. My town has tree-lined streets so we are more vulnerable than most. (I like the tree-lined streets…though not so much when the power goes out during single-digit temperatures.)
Irene was supposed to pass right over us, but she swerved west (not east, west).
But after that gee dee ice storm, I think a karmic balance of good meteorological luck is only fair.
