I just want the eventual split of the evangelical vs capitalist wings of the GOP to occur without involving the country undergoing an economic implosion. Unfortunately I expect a “real conservative” POTUS to trigger that in attempting massive social tampering at the same time as enacting ruinous economic policy. And the “what is good for business is what is good for the country” crowd won’t catch on until it’s too late.

We won’t see a “real” conservative POTUS. They can’t win unless the franchise is limited to white voters; that’s why they flipped their lids when Cochran “cheated” by appealing to African-American voters.
