It doesn’t matter. It was improper. This is common sense.
They are both lawyers and should understand the legal concept of avoiding the appearance of impropriety.

I’m pretty sure that the response of the GOP leadership to our “We must avoid the appearance of impropriety!” nonsense is to laugh up their sleeves at us and high five, because we have swalowed their narrative, and we’re now all on their page, that HRC is under criminal investigation and whether or not she’s indicted is an open question.
