What are the factors making Health Care too expensive? What can be done to reduce those costs?

1) Malpractice awards are through the roof, making malpractice insurance expensive. These costs are passed on to the consumer. (Sick folks - us)

2) In order to prevent being hit with a malpractice suit, many doctors practice defensive medicine - ordering X-rays AND an MRI AND a boane scan to diagnose a broken ankle.

True reform of the Malpractice insurance/lawsuit system will bring down the cost of insurance and end the practice of ordering three tests when one will do. Healthcare costs should go down.
