I don’t agree… we talk settled science here all the time.

I know and it is wrong to do so…Newton laws of gravity were thought to be settled till Einstein came along. Science is never settled that is its heart…inquiry. However we can, and often do, have scientific data that is so grounded that we feel comfortable acting.
