re: #315 alpuz

Fall brings me cold legs on morning bike commutes to work. It also brings me bike paths that are less congested. Fall also means that winter is just up around the bend. That means 5:30 am snow blowing and no bike riding. I’m not a fan of west-central Wisconsin winters, but I do dig the fact that the harshness of said winters keeps the ‘tourists’ at bay. I’m thinking a fatbike is my future. Giddyup.

I’m in a different climate here in Portland. I used to take perverse pleasure in my winter bike commutes. I was lit up with strobe lights front, back and on the wheels. My East German army surplus helmet was circled with strobes too. I looked like a maniac. My old workplace still has a poster sized pic of my bike outfit in the breakroom 10 years later.
