I have not read the shooter’s manifesto, but caught some snips of it here and there. Within the cryptocurrency circles, some noticed that he mentions he had made some good money with Bitconnect.

Bitconnect was a massive ponzi scheme that purported to be a cryptocurrency scheme. It collapsed in early 2018, and many people lost millions of dollars as a result. Shooter guy could have been one of the guys near the top of the pyramid.
