If the Democrats were smart and could stay on message (Big “if”, I know) they would run on this. The only difference between “reasonable and sane” Republicans like Ryan, Pawlenty and Romeny and the “crazy” Republicans like Bachmann, Palin and Gingrich is that they aren’t playing the birther/Kenyan stuff. Aside from that, they all want the same things. They agree on 95% of what the modern conservative movement stands for. President Obama needs to make clear that even if his eventual opponent isn’t a birther, their ideas are terrible for most Americans. Tax cuts for the rich and a gutted social safety net for everyone else. There is no daylight between any of them on what matters most.
