This is curious.
Israel ‘prepared for 30-day war with Iran’

His wiki page says that he’s had verified scoops before so he does seem to have access to reliable leaks. However, checking his blog and blogroll he’s a lefty loon with Mondoweiss and MJ Rosenberg on his blogroll. He could have a real document of he might just be spreading misinformation.

30 days with Iran? No. Or rather, of the same concept as a “short and victorious war.”

Because the two lands are not adjacent, neither can invade the other. And as we’ve shown again and again, as recently as the “shock and awe” attempt in Iraq, air power doesn’t finish the war.

What truly bothers me about every alleged Israeli plan I’ve seen is the assumption that nobody will support Iran (or those that do are immaterial). As I keep pointing out, both Russia and China have vested interests. China’s got a treaty or two that, while vague, can be read as mutual support against invasion — and I can’t decide if the vagueness is in the original or if it’s the result of translation of chinese and farsi to english.

There’s the question (in my mind) as to whether the various leaderships of the region will really look away if Israel is the aggressor. Will Pakistan honor its treaty, and if so how does this impact our Afghanistan operations?

So on and so forth, all boiling down to making me feel like we’re seeing history’s rhyme of 1912-1914.
