I was out here for that. The polls indicated people were more likely not to vote for someone because they were Armenian than because they were black. Next thing you know George Deukmejian is governor.

Was there a significant anti-Armenian prejudice in CA during that time? I know CA’s got a significant Armenian-American community, perhaps among the biggest in the nation but wasn’t aware that there would actually be polls about voting against them in this day and age.
