Wingnuts have a fake quote that LBJ allegedly said “I’ll have those N-words voting Democrat for the next 200 years!” after giving them “free shit” like food stamps and welfare as part of the “Great Society War on Poverty” whereas before that all Blacks were Republicans.

To suggest that Black people are so venal that they would abandon a century of goodwill from Republicans for “free shit” is by itself horribly racist.

i hear people who talk like this excusing themselves from racism since they believe that a black person is capable of overcoming this widespread venality that they believe infects the overwhelming majority of black folks

in other words, they dont know that it is possible to be horribly racist in an ignorantly prejudiced way without actually being a nazi-ass, biological, racial-inferiority racist
