We weren’t talking of Asian immigrants, nor denying that illegal ones exist. I simply am under the impression that proportionately there are differences between Europe and the US, and I would add that it is my understanding that “Asian” immigrants in this country are probably the most successful group of all. Probably because of close family ties and support system. (You know, socialist stuff/)

I am aware that you weren’t talking of Asian immigrants, but we do have illegal immigration coming from many places besides Latin America.

As for the success rates: there are folks in that category. There are also a lot of desperately poor people who came over by the themselves and end up illegal, doing shit work, and trying to pay off the gangsters that brought them over here.

I really haven’t found a good source of comparative information about US and European immigration, and how it’s going, and why, and who’s involved, and how many illegal as opposed to legal immigrants there are. I know that the situation is quite different, as is the approach.
