I wish that was true, they just stop updating it, you still have to remove it to install something else. For a while their all the Dell computers came with 90 free days of McAfee, it was already installed and before you could change to something else you had to remove McAfee.

I think I had the joy of manually uninstalling all the leftover bits and registry entries that their “uninstall” left behind about 100 times. It was frustrating to have to spend half an hour doing that with every new computer fresh out of the box.

I know… and if any one from Dell is reading this my next rig is a Mac.
