I said (once again: for the cheap seats) that they are strategically insane. All the shit that comes out of their mouths is made up, snake oil for the rubes. They believe maybe 5% of it. I am not certain in what world this constitutes “defense of the GOP”. This was in context of a discussion about legislative outcomes in a hypothetical unicameral body.

In the nineties…no, I would not.

Today? I see calls for armed revolt and bloodshed on a nearly daily basis at RWNJ sites…and the people they elect are beginning to show the same attitudes: nihilism, contempt of the poor and working classes, ignorance, outright hatred of government procedures and traditions, and a desire for a revolutionary (as opposed to conservative Burkean thought) overthrow of societal, judicial and legislative norms. McVeigh would fit in all too well.
