I’d heard about the project before, though if I had a choice I’d rather pay the extra to have my kids taught on an operating system more commonly used than Linux. Just because that’s what they’d encounter around here when they grew up.

But if the alternative is no computer, obviously a Linux box is preferable to that.

It’s for kids in places that have never heard of Microsoft, let alone Windows.
