That’s the reason neoconservative chickenhawks love war anyway, is the proxy-kill factor. Someone else does the killing, they get to feel the power. No better than the Hindutva cowards hiding behind Israeli citizens, to get back at the Muslims for them.

Carpet bombing raids were used, but those were against NVA tank and troop formations. Blasting an enemy division apart with a massive bombing raid is OK.

Vietnam is an oil exporter, as well as rice and rubber, and is a supplier of labor for textiles. Not just to the US, either.
