re: #313 Dark_Falcon
It’s actually a very easy question to answer;
Best President overall as a knife-fighter: Andrew Jackson. Brutal, aggressive, and possessed of a strong killer instinct, Andrew Jackson was just plain deadly. Very few would want to face him in a knife fight, as he had speed and strength and had a good knife with him where ever he went.
2nd Best and best of all 20th Century Presidents as a bladesman: Teddy Roosevelt. A better natured fellow than Jackson, but still strong, smart, utterly resolute, and very skilled with a blade. TR had dealt with knifemen when he was a rancher, and later as head of the NYPD. Another guy you seriously would not want to mess with at close quarters.
Like most moderns you’re forgetting Tippecanoe and Tyler. Harrison was at knife fighting distance at least twice and survived. Both fought in the Northwest Territories when that was serious wilderness.
