Makes sense, consolidate the industry and focus on increasing quality. Market’s flooded, time to throttle things back so as to avoid creating a public perception of shoddy goods that would hurt the industry in the long run.

Assuming that the list of firms they plan to continue supporting was honestly decided. Given the corruption in China, many if not most of the firms still being supported likely paid bribes to ensure they kept getting said support.
