Speaking of which. I got me an Intel i5 2500K with an Asus P8P67 Deluxe MOBO. Zoom! And two SSDs. Lots of other nice junk attached. 16GB RAM, 64bit, Windows 7 Professional. On the junky Toshiba laptop now though.

That sounds like a machine.
I just put an SSD in my system. I still have to clone the OS to it.
