You did that Internet thing and didn’t read the article first. No, it’s “all vehicles.” That’s NEW vehicles, as of 2016. Never had a gadget like that, but yes, I back up a long driveway where there are lots of kids around. You can’t go zooming backwards in my neighborhood. But a kid can stop and pet a kitty just as you start moving off. You’re not going to pick that up with a rearview.

Better would be rear-facing radar, that goes off and stops the car when a moving, child-sized thing sat directly behind you.
