The problem is that in the Wingnut mentality, the GOP can do no wrong.

If Republicans try something and it works: “Take that, Libtards!”

If Republicans try something and it didn’t work: “clearly the Liberals/Clinton/Pelosi/Obama/black people/brown people/jews/etc did something to sabotage it or otherwise make it ineffective, that’s why we need to elect more Republicans!”

It’s a cycle that’s impossible to break and we’re all paying the price for it right now.
