Not true. The Democrats and Republicans differ on numerous social issues, and these differences are large enough to justify fighting for Ds vs. Rs.

However, there is no point in harboring illusions that the Democrats will meaningfully fight for their traditional economic issues and for organized labor, unless hard-pressed from the left in their primaries.

How about Democratic voters showing up period? Democratic officials gotta wonder why they should fight for a segment that doesn’t bother to vote.
