OK. Quick example then I have to run. Remember David Bannister the runner.
Up until 1940 or whatever year it was, nobody and I mean nobody was able to break the 4 minute mile. This went on on hundreds of years. Then one day, Bannister ran and broke the 4 minute mile. A new M-field was then created and soon thereafter many runners were breaking the 4 minute mile. It was no longer the huge barrier it had been. And don’t tell me they started doing weights…

Curious. The record is 3 minutes 43.13, at what point can we no longer shave a tenth of a second? When no improvement is possible?
